I totally binged Bridgerton, and like everyone else I was head-over-heels for the costumes. The pastel colours, lace, ruffles, florals, crystal embellished and embroidered everything – it was a perfect blend of regal and whimsical. The fashion was inspiring, especially after a year of cancelled social events, leggings and sweaters. I guess you could say my fascination with the costumes offered a bit of escapism, and the pretty dresses felt almost transportive. And so began my journey to incorporate the Bridgerton sartorial elegance into my everyday wardrobe. It started with this beautiful Erdem floral embroidered bucket hat, which felt very Bridgerton to me but also practical for northern Germany. Now that I’m in Bahamas, where the warmer weathers offers more wardrobe options, I’ve been reaching to dresses with built-in corsets and billowy sleeves, embellished clutches and ruffle trimmed shoes.
Below are some of my favourite Bridgerton-inspired pieces that can be incorporated into any wardrobe, and help make the ordinary everyday feel a bit more glamorous.
