Sustainability Spotlight: Savannah Morrow

I wanted to introduce to you another sustainably-conscious fashion brand I discovered earlier this summer, while looking for new pieces for my wardrobe that I could wear throughout my pregnancy and after. It started with this silk and bamboo blend top. I loved the material and how it draped over my pregnant belly, but still hid it enough that I didn’t feel like I was trying to be Rihanna (no shade again Rihanna – she’s a queen and I loved her pregnancy style, it’s just not my personal everyday style). I wore this top all throughout summer and even to my maternity shoot (which I’m so excited to share once I get the photos back!), and I know I’ll be wearing it with high-waisted trousers or jeans postpartum and beyond as well. I really love this top!

So it was only natural that I turned to Savannah Morrow again, this time over 9 months pregnant and looking for a dress to wear to a wedding ceremony here in Toronto. I needed something comfortable, loose enough to accommodate my 9-month belly but that still had a beautiful silhouette and didn’t feel like a tent on me. I also really wanted something I loved and would be sure to wear after pregnancy as well. I found this silk and bamboo blend emerald green dress and knew she was the one. I ordered it in my regular size (xs) and it fit perfectly thanks to the belted, elasticated waist. I love the flowy silhouette, plunging v-neck, and billowy cuffed sleeves – it’s very romantic. The material is light enough for hot summer weather but would also work well in the fall with a shawl – I actually plan on wearing it again to a September wedding if I make it (baby A has the same due date, so we’ll see what his plans are!). The best part is I can already picture wearing it post-pregnancy and have a pretty good idea of how it will look on my postpartum body as well.

Below are some more pieces I’m currently loving from Savannah Morrow. If you’re in the market for something, I promise you won’t regret supporting this sustainable brand and will fall in love with her forever wearable, nature-inspired, free-flowing pieces. xx
